LUXLIT WEEKLY FEATURED ARTIST
I was born in 1957 near Verdun (France). I studied agriculture. I have had several jobs, at the beginning I worked in slaughterhouses. After this I was a Professor in Algeria. Some time later I was an operator of shooting Motion control in Paris for 25 years. In the present, I work as sound engineer and I travel a lot.
LUX LIT: What subjects do you like to shoot?
Léonard response: I like to photograph everything, everything that surrounds me, from the wide view of a Washington avenue to the details of a fish on a plate in a restaurant in Croatia, and if I had more time, if I could have that extra time, I would like to photograph more faces to shoot some portraits.
L: Colour or B/W and why?
Léonard: I use a desaturated colour, almost never black and white, always a little bit of colour…
L: Your inspiration is?
L: Tell us a little bit about your creative process
Léonard: Usually far from home, it´s always mysterious, everything new inspires me.
L: What gear do you use and what is your preferred equipment?
Léonard: As I’m working (I’m not a professional photographer!)–that means I can’t go around with a camera around my neck–I shoot mainly with my iPhone which allows me to shoot in an effective, and at the same time, unnoticed way.
L: How do you develop your photos (digital/film/software used)?
Léonard: I use two applications, one to adjust the contrast, the light and the colour and another to create a polaroid look (I cannot imagine a picture without a frame). These apps are: tiltshiftgen, shakeltphoto and recently snapseed.
L: What would you like to convey with your photos?
Léonard: My happiness, my joy.
L: Tell us a anecdote or a “secret” regarding your photos.
Léonard: For me it´s difficult to shoot if I’m not travelling…
Many thanks Léonard for your collaboration and wonderful work that we enjoy in your blog.
